Baby Blues – Calgary Baby Photographer

I have photographed this cute little man since he was in his moms belly, and I swear every time I see him his eyes get bluer and bluer, and he gets cuter and cuter!!! We got together for his one year photos/a playdate this past week and I’m pretty impressed with what we got considering he’s the fastest one year old on the planet! Seriously – he moves, and he moves fast. lol. Anyhoo…I love him (his mom is one of my besties) and I consider myself lucky to be able to kiss those sweet little cheeks whenever I darn well feel like it! :)

Complete Hilarity – BACON!

Every time I watch this clip I laugh so hysterically that my stomach hurts and my eyes water….enjoy!

Any Day Now – Calgary Photographer

You probably remember the stunning & beautiful Amanda from her family session last summer…but this time around we shot another kind of session! Baby number 2 is expected any time now and I think you can all join me in saying how AMAZING she looks! Here is a sneak a peek from our mini-maternity session. I can’t wait to meet whoever is hiding out in that adorable belly!

Delight in the beauty that surrounds you!

PS! We didn’t steal this perfect little nest from a mommy bird. It’s not real! :)

Jason & Dhara – Calgary Photographer

A few weeks ago I had the opportunity to shoot a wedding with my friend Terence of  TLaw Photography. Occasionally the two of us swap time and assist each other with our weddings. I love working with Terence, he’s a fabulous guy and an amazing photographer so working with him is always a blast!  I was really excited about helping Terence with this wedding. The bride & groom were amazing, and the wedding was stunning!   Terence shared a number of his beautiful images on his blog, but he was also kind enough to allow me to share a few of the ones I snapped as well. Enjoy!

Must Be Baby Season – Calgary Photographer

It must be baby season because I seem to be having a fabulous influx of newborns lately, with several more to come! LUCKY ME!!! They are such a privilege to photograph! It seems like I forget just how tiny they are between each session because I show up and the first thing I say is “Ohhh….she’s soooo teeeny!” :) I’m sure I sound ridiculous! ha!  This  adorable little princess came a few weeks early and was in good, sleepy spirits for our session. She definitely knew what she wanted though – and it wasn’t to lay on her tummy. :) So after a couple of attempts we appeased her with her preferred side-position and snapped away as she happily slept.  So – a big congratulations to this family on their precious, early arrival! They are a great bunch and I so very much enjoyed working with them!

Congrats Vanaprasta!

A big congratulations to our friend Steve Wilkin whose band Vanaprasta released their EP today! Steve is an amazing singer and has a great band so be sure to check them out and buy their album HERE!

PS! My favorite song is Color of Sin!

R2-Re2 – Calgary Family Photographer

This family means the world to me. You’ve randomly heard about them on my blog – Libby is my very close girlfriend that has recently been missing in the photos from my posts about my friends. She has been living out East while her husband does his residency and I have sincerely missed having her around!

Libby and I met in high school and became fast friends. We’ve remained close over the years, and have an amazing, solid group of girlfriends that I think we all value very much. I was there when Libby first met her husband Sean at a New Years Eve get together at my house in High School, and have been privileged enough to watch their story unfold over the years. We all have a long history together with many great memories. One of my favorites is that Libby and I used to ditch school occasionally and head out to South Calgary where we would attempt pull Sean out of his classes with random excuses like “Uh, I’m his cousin and I left my retainer in his card…I need him to come out and get it for me.” I know it sounds lame, but it totally worked and we’d laugh as they mispronounced his name over the loud speaker. When we couldn’t get him out of class that way, we would just wander the halls until we found the class he was in and we’d make faces at him until he would finally step out to greet to us. Oh the memories…..

Anyhoo…I love these guys and even with the current distance between us they remain some of my very favorite people! I had the opportunity to photograph them last week when we all got together. The kids were a bit distracted by my kids (they just wanted to be able to play)…so we finally opted for ice cream as a big group and finished up our photos there. Here are a few from our day together!

We Made The Cover Again!

I am so excited to tell you that we made the cover of  Birth of a Mother magazine again this month with their annual Mommy Makeover! This time the editor & chief had a fabulous makeover done and I got to be there to photograph it from start to finish. It was fabulous and Leah looked absolutely beautiful! Be sure to pick up your copy of the magazine at several locations across Canada to get the full scoop, and to check out their other awesome articles this issue!

PS! I’m currently writing a photography article for next months issue so be sure to stay tuned!

Ella – Calgary Newborn Photographer

This past weekend I got to meet Ella. She was teeny, tiny, beautiful and gave her parents a decent night sleep the night before – so as a result she didn’t want to sleep for our photos! :) But I must assure all of you expectant moms out there that non-sleepy babies are very common on picture day! It’s to be expected, so we just roll with the punches and give these tiny ones exactly what they want which often includes some quiet alone time with mommy to eat, cuddle and try to fall asleep. Ella did eventually find her inner zen and fell fast asleep for some of her photos. She is absolutely precious and I could have stayed at her house all day just looking at her and holding her. I have the best job – who doesn’t want to cuddle newborns and capture their peaceful moments!?! Anyway – here is a peek at Ella’s newborn photos. She is as sweet as sweet can be with a couple of wonderful parents!
