Trevor & Rebecca – Engaged – Calgary Photographer

I had a fabulous session this past week when I met Trevor & Rebecca in Banff to take their engagement photos (stay tuned for their wedding this spring). I had an amazing time with them, and as you can see they were very natural in front of the camera. I did consider wrestling Rebecca for her gorgeous scarf (isn’t it fabulous?!), but other than my slight envy of her great outfit – our session went smoothly. :) Here is a peek at their photos. There were SO many I loved that I had a really hard time choosing which ones to share. These ones made my top picks…so far.

Little Charmer – Calgary Baby Photographer

I’ve had the privilege of photographing this sweet boy since he was still in his mom’s cute belly. It’s been such a pleasure to watch him grow, and let me tell you this little man is a CHARMER! He’s smart, happy and completely adorable! It’s no wonder he gets so much attention everywhere he goes. Those gorgeous eyes will melt any heart! :)

How She’s Grown – Calgary Baby Photographer

I forget how quickly they grow up, but being able to watching Everee change so much every week is so fun for me. Here is (my future daughter in law) Everee at 8 months! :)

HAPPINESS IS…

Edamame…because it doesn’t have gluten and I can eat it whenever I want.

All things Burt….because it’s just that good.

Her….because she spared my favorite pair of boots and is starting to figure out where to go to the bathroom.

Him…just because.

Her & Her Laughter….because it is the loudest, most contagious anywhere.

Color….because it moves me.

Love….because it ROCKS!

29 +1 – It’s My Birthday!

Well,  it WAS my birthday a couple of days ago and I had THE BEST Birthday I’ve ever had! Kind of ironic considering I was a wee bit stressed about turning 30…but I must say it feels good to have hit this number and I don’t feel any different (of course). My birthday started with breakfast in bed – gluten free crepes (thanks G), followed by the discovery of Flamingos & a giant Happy 30th Birthday sign on my lawn, courtesy of my parents sense of humor. :) I spent the day running errands, having a mani-pedi done with my sister & daughter, and then finished off with kids swimming lessons &  a relaxing therapeutic massage. Yumm.

Then last night we finished off the celebrations with my closest friends & family and had a Mexican Fiesta (my mom made the food, YUMMY) followed by a giant gluten-free cake with my face on it. Nothing like eating your nose on your birthday. ;) I won’t claim it was the most delicious cake I’ve ever had, but it was edible and I was able to eat cake on my birthday so I was happy. Party on! A HUUUUGE thank you for my friends &  family for celebrating with me and making my 30th birthday everything I had hoped it would be!

My big-A#$ cake with my face on it! Sort of delicious. :)

Gannon & Ryan striking a pose.

These are my girls. As mentioned before, Libby is missing as her husband does his residency in Ontario, but I have to just give a plug for how much I LOVE these girls! I’ve known most of them for 20 years…TWENTY YEARS! That is insane. We reminisced last night about the times we first met…and how awesome it is that we are all still as tight as ever. These girls make me happy! It’s amazing to have such great friends to share your life & your dreams with. I love you girls so much! Thank you for being such amazing friends!!!!

We were all struggling here trying to make 3-0’s correctly with our hands so that the camera could read them. :)

And in true birthday fashion…Birthday Bumps for the Birthday Girl! hahaha

Laurie & Joel – Calgary Engagement Photographer

Meet another one of my stunning 2010 brides, Laurie…and her adorable fiance Joel. I had a great time photographing them during our session last weekend, and as you can see they were very natural in front of the camera and I think their true personalities & love for each other really came through. They are a fun couple!

Coincidentally, before I met Laurie for our Wedding Consult, I bumped into her at a hair salon while I was shooting a makeover for Birth Of A Mother Magazine.  It worked out well that I was able to meet her before our appointment. She had just returned from a trip to Brazil (yes I am jealous too) and I knew when I first met her that she was fabulous!  Anyway….stay tuned in June for their wedding – I can’t wait!

Long Lost Cousin – Calgary Family Photographer

Well…she’s not really long lost, but she was living WAY far away in Las Vegas while I was living in Oregon, and we only saw each other once in those almost 4-years that we were gone. We were apart much too long, and we both just moved back to Calgary this year (Yay for us!).  Jennifer & I grew up just blocks from each other and spent much of our adolescence laughing hysterically in the middle of the night and going for long walks while we gossiped and giggled. She and her older sister Christa taught me how to put on makeup, call a boy without sounding too nervous, and match my belt with my shoes. She’s been like a sister to me and I’m beyond thrilled that she & I are now living in the same city again. She has unfortunately planted herself at the complete opposite side of the city, but we are determined to get together and let our kids play while we catch up on our lives. I had a great time visiting with her while we did these photos…and I think they turned out pretty darn cute. Doesn’t she have the most beautiful family?! Here is a peek at what we shot this week.
